Opi: dim sum plum

Opi nail polish has been one of my favourite brands of nail polish for a long time.  (Note I said one of my favourites... I have quite a few haha, and I'm not adverse to trying any nail polish out there.) dim sum plum is a pinky purple toned nail polish that suits all skin tones.

I don't know if it's just me but I can never really get many pink nail polishes that look good on my nails.  They always make my hand look really pale... That was until I found dim sum plum.  I stumbled across it by complete accident when I bought my first opi set from qvc it was a bargain... (Always watch out for opi and nails inc bargains on qvc).

The collection I bought was the Hong Kong collection and as soon as I saw dim sum plum I loved it.  It's just the perfect balance between pink and purple.  I know with a name that includes plum the colour would surprise you.. I have had this nail polish now for a long time and it still applies like a brand new polish.  It coats the nail perfectly smooth.  If you are really in a rush you can apply one coat as the colour pay off is amazing.  In saying this I always apply 2 coats as I know this with help to maintain a lengthy manicure.  The polish also dries really fast which isn't always the case with all opi nail polishes.  (I think it depends on the finish etc)

My overall opinion of opi: dim sum plum, is that it is my favourite pink nail polish ever.  It is also probably in my favourite top 10 nail polishes ever.  I would highly recommend it to anyone if they can get their hands on it.

My favourite base coat: OPI Nail Envy

I thought for my first review that I should really start with the foundations to the perfectly polished nails. I always like to start my manicure with my favourite base coat. OPI Nail Envy is a nail strenghthener which is really amazing. It works on the principle of starting with one coat and applying another coat each day for a week. This really helps to strenghthen your nails and really helps them to grow. You can also apply it over or under your colour of choice. I choose to use this as my base coat as it helps to protect my nails from staining and my polish from chipping.

How i use it:

I apply one coat of nail envy then two coats of my desired coloured polish and I sometimes seal it with nail envy as my top coat too. Then every day I top it off with one coat of nail envy. This helps to protect the nails and your nail polish of choice.

I would really recommend using this as a base coat as well as a nail strenghthener.

This retails around £18.80 from opi but it really is worth the money and lasts a long time. On the other hand it is always worth checking out these web sites for better deals on nail envy.

The polished review

This blog is something which I have wanted to make for a long time but never really found the time to do it.  Now that I have finally got around to doing it I'm just hoping that I can live up to my own expectations.  The polished review is going to be my chance to review something I have had a life long love for... Nail polish and although it will mainly be about the nail polish I hope to possibly add some other beauty reviews in for you too at some point.

I will keep this short and sweet for now but please do check back soon.
